This is a big one!
First of all, thank you all so much for the very positive and constructive feedback and all the lovely comments on Hacker News! I did not at all expect that kind of response. This really made my week! Let's get to the actual changelog. The biggest but also probably most boring change is the fact, that Haxplore has been upgraded from Vue 2 to version 3 and the whole codebase was converted to Typescript. This was necessary because the project was originally started almost 2 years ago and this was very noticable when looking at the code. There are still things that need some refactoring/love, but that will happen over the next few weeks. Changes and new features: New domain: haxplore.com Dark mode (a Hacker News theme will follow soon) Customizable settings to change to the look and feel of Haxplore Currently two of the most requested things have been added as a setting, more will follow in the future. Better contrast Lots of color and layout adjustments/improvements Added support for page up, page down and home keys Whitespace, line breaks and spacing between paragraphs in comments and submissions are now preserved Hotkeys that did not work in Firefox have been changed/replaced Hotkey for help overlay has been changed to ? Menu overlay was moved into the settings sidebar Relative date/time is now also shown for comments Focus style of buttons, inputs and links has been improved Improved quotes and code blocks inside comments Fixed some keyboard focus/tab related issues Fixed hotkeys not working after opening menu Fixed an error related to available local storage methods Much more improvements and fixes under the hood I hope the new update makes for an even better experience and fixes the issues some of you had. Thanks again to everyone who provided any kind of feedback! If you have feature requests, other interesting ideas or found a bug you can use the feedback board or just send an email to pascal@pabue.co. Peace ✌️
